The Heart Behind BarkBlogs

I’ve spent a long time caring for dogs — especially older dogs with special needs.

My journey began with Barney, blind and deaf, who lived to an incredible 19 years. Then there was Hamish, also blind and deaf, who made it to 19 as well — two beautiful rescue boys who stole my heart the moment I met them.

My beloved Jesse Boy, who I raised from a tiny pup, stayed by my side for 16 years. Losing him was like losing a piece of myself.

And now there is Teddy, my sweet little gentleman at 16, still here, still teaching me that every day is a gift.

Each of them has taught me something different — about patience, resilience, unconditional love, and the quiet magic of growing old together.

Caring for older dogs changes you. It slows your world down in the most beautiful way.

BarkBlogs exists because every senior dog deserves to feel cherished — and every owner deserves support, guidance, and a place where their love is understood.
